About Friday Night Lights
"Friday Night Lights" Flag football league is a non-profit organization that was founded by Mark Broersma and Chris Ketcham in 2006. Los Alamitos Friday Night Lights has grown to include many of the surrounding communities. FNL currently operates 14 leagues in the following areas: Los Alamitos/Seal Beach, Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Newport Beach/Costa Mesa, Murrieta/Temecula, North County Coast (Carlsbad/La Costa), Irvine, South Orange County, Palm Desert/La Quinta, Corona, Carmel Valley, San Luis Obispo and North San Diego (Rancho Bernardo) Seeing local families traveling to Los Alamitos to play in this top notch flag football league, Dave and Christy Brodt made the decision to bring FNL to our great local community of Huntington Beach. Dave and Christy Brodt have played, coached and served on the boards of many local sporting leagues. Their vision is to bring a high quality FUN Flag Football league to their community. Previously kids in this area had very limited, if any, opportunities to participate in the most exciting sport in america.....Flag Football.
Our league is for boys and girls of all different skill levels who are in grades K-8. Online registration for the FALL season takes place during the month of May with practices beginning in August and games beginning in September. Registration for the SPRING season takes place in November with practices beginning in February and games beginning in late February. The format is a 6v6 passing league with very little contact, if any. Ideally, we will have no more than 8 players per team. Players play a minimum of 3 out of 4 quarters.
